What the bank said

The Committee said recent inflation figures and leading indicators suggested the underlying trend of inflation was decelerating despite monthly fluctuations.

It said activity data and the limited pass-through of supply shocks to domestic prices confirmed weak domestic demand.

The Committee said elevated energy prices amid geopolitical developments posed an upward risk to the inflation outlook.

Guidance. The Committee said decisions would be made prudently meeting by meeting and that it would tighten in case of a significant and persistent deterioration in the inflation outlook.

“Despite monthly fluctuations, recent inflation figures and leading indicators suggest that the underlying trend of inflation is decelerating.”
