What the bank said

The Committee said headline inflation had slowed but remained above the upper limit of the target range, while underlying measures fell slightly below that limit; Focus expectations stood at 5.0% for 2026 and 4.2% for 2027.

It said risks to inflation remained higher than usual with an upward asymmetry and that it was closely monitoring further deanchoring of longer-term expectations; its projection for the first quarter of 2028 was 3.2%.

Guidance. The Committee said it would keep monetary policy adequately restrictive to ensure convergence to the inflation target, with the total size of the calibration cycle set in light of new information.
