What the bank said

The Board of Governors said the decision remained consistent with stabilising the Rupiah amid persistently strong external headwinds, keeping inflation within the 2.5±1% target range and supporting sustainable growth.

It noted that CPI inflation rose to 3.19% in August 2026 from 2.88%, mainly on higher volatile food prices, while core inflation was contained at 2.92%.

The Bank said it was expanding incentives to attract foreign capital inflows, including widening the foreign funding transactions eligible for its premium reduction incentive.
