What the bank said

The Board of Governors said the decision remained consistent with strengthening Rupiah stability against high global turmoil from the war in the Middle East, keeping inflation within the 2.5±1% target in 2026 and 2027 and supporting sustainable growth.

It noted that the Rupiah stood at Rp17,855 per US dollar on 18 August 2026, 0.78% stronger than at the end of July, and that CPI inflation eased to 2.88% in July from 3.34%.
