What the bank said

The Board said inflation was expected to stabilise gradually, with CPI inflation at 2.3% and core inflation at 2.0% in December, while economic growth continued to improve.

It said financial-stability risks remained, citing housing prices in Seoul and its surrounding areas, household debt and exchange-rate volatility, with the won in the mid- to upper 1,400 range against the dollar.

Guidance. The Board said it will make its decisions while supporting the growth recovery and closely monitoring domestic and external policy conditions and their impact on inflation and financial stability.
