What the bank said

The Board said the war in the Middle East had raised upside pressure on inflation, increased downside risks to growth and heightened financial-market volatility, with high uncertainty about its course.

It said CPI inflation rose to 2.2% in March on petroleum prices and was expected to rise to the mid- to upper 2% range, while 2026 growth was expected to come in below its February forecast of 2.0%.

Guidance. The Board said it will decide while closely monitoring developments such as the war in the Middle East and their effects on inflation, growth and financial stability.
