What the bank said

The Bank Board said the June rate increase had so far led to a sufficient tightening of monetary conditions, and that higher longer-term interest rates had tightened financial conditions.

It said the updated forecast showed inflation temporarily increasing in late 2026 and early 2027, with core inflation still elevated.

It said the upside risk to inflation from commodity market developments had intensified.

Guidance. The Bank Board said that at its next meeting it will decide between keeping interest rates unchanged and raising them.

“At its next meeting, the Bank Board will decide between keeping interest rates unchanged and raising them.”
