What the bank said

The SNB said inflation had risen from 0.1% in February to 0.6% in May, mainly because of higher prices for oil products, while medium-term inflationary pressure was virtually unchanged.

It said its conditional forecast, averaging 0.6% for 2026 and 2027, stayed within the range of price stability, and that monetary policy was appropriate and supported economic development.

The SNB said it had an increased willingness to intervene in the foreign exchange market if necessary to counter a rapid and excessive appreciation of the Swiss franc.

Guidance. The SNB said it would continue to monitor the situation and adjust its monetary policy if necessary in order to ensure price stability.
