What the bank said

The Board of Governors said the increase further strengthened Rupiah stabilisation amid persistently elevated global uncertainty and was a pre-emptive step to keep inflation within the 2.5±1% target in 2026 and 2027.

It noted that CPI inflation rose to 3.08% in May 2026 from 2.42%, with administered prices up after adjustments to LPG, non-subsidised fuel and aviation fuel prices.
