What the bank said

The Board of Governors said the Rupiah appreciated to Rp17,885 per US dollar on 21 July 2026 after temporary pressure from late June, when the war in the Middle East escalated again and expectations of a Federal Funds Rate hike strengthened.

It noted that CPI inflation was 3.34% in June 2026, with core inflation contained at 2.76%.

The Bank said it was expanding incentives and other measures to increase foreign portfolio inflows, deepen the money and foreign exchange markets and reduce liquidity segmentation.
