What the bank said

The Executive Board said both growth and inflation had been higher over the summer than forecast in June, and that a risk remained of underlying inflation becoming too high after the supply shocks in the Middle East.

It said the picture was not clear-cut, as companies' pricing plans had been subdued, global supply-chain disruptions had declined and the labour market had been somewhat weaker than expected.

It concluded that the overall outlook for the economy remained largely unchanged.

Guidance. The Riksbank said the probability of a rate increase later this year remained, and that it would tighten policy if the summer's unexpectedly high inflation proved to be the start of a larger, more lasting upturn.

“Overall, the outlook for the economy remains largely unchanged.”
