API & MCP
Free and open: no key, no sign-up. Every response carries meta.dataset_version, so you can cite exactly what you read. Facts and calendars only: no forecasts, odds or opinions.
MCP
Streamable HTTP, stateless: https://macroindex.org/mcp. Tools: upcoming_decisions, bank_status, upcoming_auctions, check_question, resolution_sources, dataset_health and submit_correction. check_question refuses a decision or an auction that has not been observed.
claude mcp add --transport http macroindex https://macroindex.org/mcp
In Claude (web, desktop, mobile): Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, name it Macro Index and paste https://macroindex.org/mcp. No sign-in is needed. Then ask, for example: "When does the ECB next decide on rates?" or "What did the Bank of Japan decide at its last meeting?"
Other clients (Cursor, VS Code, ChatGPT and others that take a remote MCP server): add https://macroindex.org/mcp as a Streamable HTTP server. A static server card is at /.well-known/mcp/server-card.json.
REST
Plain JSON with CORS. Every response is {data, meta}.

Each observed decision with a written account has its own page: the rate before and after, the statement, and the reasons the bank gave, paraphrased and attributed. Cite it for a question about one decision; the statement it links is the authority.
